My name is Dr. Oren Cox and I am a professor and thanatologist. I provide grief support services to individual clients and conduct psychosocial support groups for people dealing with grief and life-threatening illness. I love working with people and helping them find their true potential and to recognize their resilient nature. I think we are sometimes too hard on ourselves and have thoughts that limit our capabilities in all aspects of life. It is meaningful for me to assist others in coming to terms with whatever they are experiencing. In our society, death is oftentimes seen a taboo and it is not discussed or embraced in a healthy or beneficial way. We need to change this taboo into something positive and meaningful. We must recognize death is something that will happen to us all and prolonging the discussion will make it that much harder.
